封面上這隻由不同形狀組合而成的頭，那是一隻獅子的頭，但是如果拿走最外圍的大圓圈，那麼就會是一隻老鼠，如果只留下最中間的倒三角形，那麼就會是一隻狐狸。那麼長方形、橢圓形和心形可以是哪三種動物？菱形、八角形、六角形呢？作者就是這樣玩形狀，但書名卻叫做Color Zoo。
說故事技巧：
簡單的命名書（形狀、動物）說來簡單，但若能在每一頁上留些時間給孩子欣賞圖畫、觸摸形狀（形狀是頁面挖空而成），或搭配歌唱，就會有趣些，例如用《London Bridge Is Falling Down》的調來唱Triangle, circle, square and heart：
